Black and White Portrait Session

Photography is not only a record of an image, but also of emotions that can capture light and shadow. It is the play of contrasts that defines the atmosphere of a photo, giving it depth and mystery.
I had the opportunity to create a series of portraits in black and white, and one in particular caught my attention. It shows a figure hidden in semi-darkness, with a lowered head and subtle light touching the face and jewelry. The minimalism of this composition allows you to focus on the emotions – a subtle expression of contemplation, introspection, and maybe even melancholy.
I love working with low-key lighting. It allows you to highlight only the most important things, while hiding the rest in mysterious darkness. In this type of session, precise light setting is key – one source, the right angle of incidence and balance between light and shadow.
As a photographer based in Southampton , I always try to bring out the authenticity in my models. It’s not just about the pose, but the moment when you can see the real emotion in them. Sometimes it’s a quick look down, sometimes a subtle movement of the hand – it’s these details that make a photo special.
If you want to immortalize yourself in such an atmospheric, artistic style – I invite you to cooperate!
